Breathing techniques and heart coherence

Although a lot of people know that we need to keep breathing when stressed, most of them do not understand what happens on a physiological level when stress takes over our breathing.

Correct  breathing techniques are a simple method to influence your autonomic (or automatic) nervous system, and as such partially control your biological stress response. Through breathing you will influence your heart, which in turn triggers responses in the rest of your body and nervous system.

Heartcoherence is used to rebalance the cooperation between your breathing and the variability of your heart rate. Simply put, we train the heart muscle to become more flexible under stressful situations. This will allow to maintain the general flexibility of your stress system and prevent a rigidity to set in.
