Klinisch Psycholoog - Psychotherapeut - Doctor in de Psychologie

Dr. Aisha Cortoos worked for many years as a sleep psychologist in the sleep unit of the UZ Brussel. Together with her colleagues from Antwerp and Leuven, and in collaboration with the Belgian Association for Sleep Research and Sleep Medicine (BASS), she shaped the Belgian landscape for the treatment of insomnia.

As a postdoctoral researcher, she collaborated with the Royal Military Academy (RMA) on projects around sleep, fatigue and performance. She is a volunteer scientific collaborator at the VUB (Human Physiology and Sports Physiotherapy Research Group - MFYS), at the RMA (Vital Signs and Performance - VIPER) and also teaches training courses at the BASS. She is an author of several international and national publications in journals and reference books. She gives lectures and workshops in companies and for other health care providers, and coaches clients with sleep problems, stress complaints, lingering fatigue and burnout.
